Bomb! Cover! Just Kidding, It's a Drill

On March 8, 2017, Brandon Middle School participated in bomb drill. During the drill, students had to exit the building and stand outside near the track and softball field.
The Virginia Beach School Board requires all schools to perform bomb threat evacuation drills yearly. This is a practice so that students know what to do in case there's real life emergency.
For our drill, we walked in a straight quiet line to exit the building. We had to be quiet so we could hear the directions. Once we exited the building, we had to stand around the softball field. We waited there for five or ten minutes while the building was checked.
After the bomb drill, everyone walked back into the building and went back to what they were doing.
Bomb drills aren't the only type of drills that we do at school. We also recently had an internal lock down drill, and we have fire drills every month.
